Country of Origin: France
Alexandre & Astrid are brother and sister, Basque Country lovers and espadrilles aficionados: they are the creators of the brand.
The name ANGARDE comes from ”avant-garde“ in ancient French : a concept at the crossroad of authenticity and modernity, of vintage and avant-garde.
The models have been designed in Paris and produced in a Spanish factory that boasts more than 25 years of know-how. Cotton and other fabrics come from high end workshops in Spain.
ANGARDE is a “sliker”, a mix between slipper and sneaker shoes, with an espadrille touch.
The outsole is waterproof, made with eco labelled Italian plastic. A fiber rope is naturally fixed all around (no glue or solvent used). The insole is very breathable and comfortable, since it is made with natural leather and latex.
The « slipper cut » and the front & back yokes give to ANGARDE models a chic and urban style.
ANGARDE commits to make up for the water used in the production of its cotton canvas: ANGARDE supports the NGO SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL by returning part of its income to improve access to drinkable water in Africa. For each pair of ANGARDE shoes bought, ANGARDE gives access to 1L a day for 30 days of drinkable water to an inhabitant.
